ELKE Seller Code of Conduct

At ELKE, our mission is to create a trusted platform that promotes and supports women-owned businesses. Every seller is expected to maintain professionalism, honesty and respect while using the ELKE platform.

By registering with ELKE, you agree to comply with this Seller Code of Conduct.

1. Professional Conduct

Sellers shall:

  • Conduct business honestly and ethically.
  • Treat customers with courtesy and respect.
  • Respond to customer enquiries within a reasonable time.
  • Maintain professional communication at all times.

2. Accurate Business Information

Sellers must ensure that:

  • Business information is complete and accurate.
  • Product and service descriptions are truthful.
  • Prices are clearly displayed where applicable.
  • Contact details are kept up to date.
  • Business licences or registrations provided are genuine.

3. Product and Service Quality

Sellers are responsible for ensuring that:

  • Products and services meet the descriptions provided.
  • Products are safe and lawful.
  • Services are delivered professionally.
  • Customers are informed of any delays or changes promptly.

4. Honest Marketing

Sellers shall not:

  • Make false or misleading claims.
  • Display fake discounts or offers.
  • Use deceptive advertising.
  • Copy another seller’s content, images or branding without permission.

5. Respect for Intellectual Property

Sellers must upload only content that they own or are authorised to use, including:

  • Logos
  • Photographs
  • Product images
  • Videos
  • Brand names
  • Written descriptions

Sellers are responsible for any intellectual property infringement arising from their content.

6. Customer Service

Sellers are expected to:

  • Handle customer enquiries professionally.
  • Resolve complaints fairly and promptly.
  • Honour commitments made to customers.
  • Communicate clearly regarding pricing, availability and delivery.

7. Compliance with Laws

Sellers shall comply with all applicable laws and regulations relating to their business, including consumer protection, taxation, product safety, food safety, cosmetics, health products and any other sector-specific legal requirements.

8. Prohibited Activities

The following activities are prohibited on ELKE:

  • Selling illegal or prohibited products or services.
  • Selling counterfeit or pirated goods.
  • Posting offensive, obscene or discriminatory content.
  • Providing false contact information.
  • Creating fake enquiries or reviews.
  • Manipulating customer ratings.
  • Harassing customers or other sellers.
  • Engaging in fraudulent or unethical business practices.

9. Privacy and Confidentiality

Sellers shall:

  • Use customer information only for legitimate business purposes.
  • Protect customer privacy.
  • Not sell, share or misuse customer information without consent.

10. Platform Integrity

Sellers shall not:

  • Attempt to disrupt or misuse the ELKE platform.
  • Upload malicious software or harmful content.
  • Engage in activities that may damage ELKE’s reputation.
  • Misrepresent themselves as employees, agents or representatives of ELKE.

11. Enquiries Received Through ELKE

Sellers agree that:

  • Customer enquiries received through ELKE should be handled professionally.
  • Sellers are responsible for negotiating prices, payments, delivery, warranties and after-sales service directly with customers.
  • ELKE is not a party to any agreement between the Seller and the customer.

12. Monitoring

ELKE reserves the right to:

  • Review business listings.
  • Verify information submitted by sellers.
  • Remove inaccurate or inappropriate content.
  • Request supporting documents where necessary.

13. Violations

If a Seller violates this Code of Conduct, ELKE may take one or more of the following actions:

  • Issue a warning.
  • Request correction of the violation.
  • Temporarily suspend the listing.
  • Permanently remove the listing.
  • Refuse renewal of the subscription.
  • Take legal action where appropriate.

By registering on ELKE, the Seller confirms that they have read, understood and agreed to comply with this Seller Code of Conduct.
